Is their any point of working hard senior year?

i am about to approach my senior year and my question is even if i tried working hard would it even matter because college apps are due on November 30th, so how would they know my final grades if the semester ends in december? i got a 3.7 both semesters of junior year, i took 2 ap classes last year, and im going to take 3 senior year.
